While on an outreach this week, the Lord revealed to me the right approach to true Christian witness. It is based on scriptural truth from His teaching in Matthew 18:19-20
“I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything...For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”
For effectiveness, it is preferred that two go out to preach than a team or group. Jesus Christ gave an example of this; He sent the 70 two by two to go and preach... (Lk 10:1)
In the apostle's account, John and Peter healed the cripple...Acts 3; Paul and Silas Acts 16 & 17; Paul and Barnabas Acts 13 & 15 etc.
Where a group goes out for evangelism, it is most likely that a few or even an individual that become the "main speaker" while the majority are deprived of personal contact with the audience; or end up following the orders of others...
We hereby encourage every believer to be engaged in personal witnessing with two or three. If this was done in our churches or ministries today, there will be more people reaching out to more places.
The Holy Spirit should be our ultimate GUIDE and not men in Jesus Name...
