Although we read so
much about the end time prophecies which are mostly characterized by various
kind of tribulations: In the dispensation of the law and Moses, it was declared; “When thou art
in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter
days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice…”
(Deut 4:30)
But there was a
definite promise, if our attention returned to God; “(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he
will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy
fathers which he swore unto them.” (v31)
And our Lord Jesus in His earthly ministry did not leave us in doubt of the
same end time events; “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not
since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.” (Mt 24:21)
But here also, He did
not keep us in darkness about the greatest hope of salvation and deliverance at
the shame and detriment of the kingdom of darkness; “These things I have spoken
unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have
tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (Jn 16:33)
All God’s people are called and encouraged to rejoice than panic at the heat
and peak of threats, literal attacks and killings. The promises of protection
or defense and salvation or safety of the almighty God supersede the wanton and
excessive wicked activities of Satan and his agents in the world today!
Paul, the renown apostle, encouraged the church; “And not only so, but we glory
in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation works patience;” (Rom 5:3).
