This May 2016, I received by the Holy Spirit’s urge to encourage
my wonderful Christian friends on facebook, G+, by text messages, email and pulpit that there is a heavy burden for
intensified or fervent prayers for the recovery of our lost focus on the call
of God upon our lives.
I was directed to the Bible’s accounts of the call of Prophets
Isaiah 6, Jeremiah 1, Daniel 1 and Joel 2. A greater emphasis was drawn to
Prophet Jeremiah’s call in chapter one; on how the word of the Lord came to
him, “...until the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month...” (Jer
1:3).
Although the fifth month here is in the Jewish calendar; but it is
relevant to our case in question; the review of our performance and recovery of
our lost hope in God’s service. There is no doubt that the church is in dear
need of revival in the area of putting greater confidence or faith in God as we
serve Him. We have been much on self reliance, human influences and ability!
“Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying: "Before I
formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I
ordained you a prophet to the nations." Then said I: "Ah, Lord GOD!
Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth." But the LORD said to me:
"Do not say, 'I am a youth,' For you shall go to all to whom I send you,
And whatever I command you, you shall speak.
Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver
you," says the LORD.
Then the LORD put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the
LORD said to me: "Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have
this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to
pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant." (Jer
1:4-10)
If every Christian had understood the purpose of God upon their
lives and ministries; we could have all done the supernatural than what had
been obtainable in the Body of Christ today. There is every assurance that the
encounter of Jeremiah with God can also apply even much more to our situations
if prayer and faith would mount up highest in our individual Christian
responsibility in Jesus’ Name....
