(From Obscurity to Reality)
The role of the Holy Spirit in the ministry of every believer can never be toyed around. The more the church only pay lip service to the Person of the Spirit of God, the more fake power operatives encroach among well intended faithful ones.
What is the church doing building hospitals, universities, cathedrals and a host of other edifices (Mt 24:1,2), when all are expected to heal the sick, cast out demons, cleanse the lepers and raise the dead and generally advance God’s Kingdom by the power of the Holy Spirit? (Mt. 10: 1,7-8) Why should we be limiting God’s power in our midst by taking to failing and frustrating shortcuts concerning problems that constantly torment our people?
If the world settings had failed in providing the answers o these basic human necessities; why the continued imitation of limitations and setbacks; seeking solutions from the world’s governments whose wisdoms are continually turning into endless futility? (l Cor. 2:6) Why don’t we just humbly accept the words of Jesus our Lord and Saviour to receive power as the Holy Spirit becomes the preoccupation of our Christian faith and service’(Ac 1:8, Ps. 50).
The apostles set the first Christ-like example for us immediately they had an encounter with God by His Spirit in the name of Jesus on the day of Pentecost. Who could have doubted such divine abilities and guts?
Listen to what the contenders with the apostles noticed: Acts 4:13 “ Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus” .NKJV
