Deborah was God’s appointed prophetess of the hour. It appeared that Barak was not capable. But the truth is, he was not purposeful enough for the task. Every one of us has an intended task to fulfill in life according to God’s eternal purpose. Each of us must discover His plan and remain resolutely focused on that plan until it is perfectly done.
Deborah agreed to go with Barak because she was the woman of the hour. That is not to say that Barak was neither relevant. Women are hereby challenged to raise their heads, shoulders and voices high to become instrumental to make extraordinary difference according to God's will in our time.
“Then Deborah said to Barak, ‘Up! For this is the day in which the LORD has delivered Sisera into your hand. Has not the LORD gone out before you?’ So Barak went down from Mount Tabor with ten thousand men following him. And the LORD routed Sisera and all his chariots and all his army with the edge of the sword before Barak; and Sisera alighted from his chariot and fled away on foot.” (Jg.4:14- 15).
Through the prophetic and courageous words of this woman of faith, Barak had an overwhelming victory over the enemy of God’s people. For further reading, consider the testimonies of these notable women of purpose in the Bible.
