Before the coming of
Christ Jesus, prophesies in the Old Testament all pointed to His coming as a
King; certainly He came to set up a Government (Isa 9:7; Isa 32:1; Jer 23:5;
Dan 7:14; Zec 9:9; Num 24:17; Isa 60:3; Mt 2:2; Lk 2:11).
And when Jesus Christ
finally came; and we do not doubt that He was God-sent; He made very bold and
unquestionable utterances regarding the Kingdom (Government) of God. Mt 3:2;
4:17; 10:7; the kingdom at hand is in the present time; there is surely also
the kingdom to come in Heaven (2Pe 1:11).
“…but now My kingdom
is not from here…You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born,
and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to
the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice." (Jn
18:36-37).
It was obvious that
Christ Jesus did not bow to any man made authority; neither to the Jewish
religious leadership nor to the Roman colonial masters over the Jews (He did
not also arrogantly rebel against any but stood for the Truth) until His time
came to redeem the world on the cross. This was evident of His power to make
decisions over and against the rule of men concerning God’s assignment!
It is a matter of great concern when many Christians
today fail to realize the fundamental laid down principle of God and His rule
through the believers here on earth. We do not disregard world governments just
to remain perpetually subject to them but to proof that through us God is in
total control and not them. Until we witness the apocalypse of John the
Beloved;
"The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord
and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!" (Rev 11:15); our
mission according to His will fail. Let our faith never fail in Jesus’ Name to
the glory God Almighty!!!
