RIGOROUS SELF-DISCIPLINE

Self had always been the enemy of a person. Selfishness finds its abode in self; while the Spirit lives in man’s own spirit. The carnal aspect of the human being plays the self rule over a person. Self control outside God’s pattern is still selfish.

The human self needs God’s orientation; the born again mentality produces the new dimension in human character. It is one thing to be born again, but yet another to learn a process of walking in it.

Many Christians had tasted of the goodness or joy of the born again experience, but only a very insignificant number had maintained the enduring walking experience of it.

This is an area of great spiritual concern that the New Orientation seeks to constantly address. The moment little attention is paid to the Holy Ghost after being born again, instantaneous failing consequence ensues.

Every human being is created with an inbuilt crave for greatness; this is meant to fulfill God’s nature in all of us. However, this intuitive blessing is hardly attained by paying loyalty to self or carnal pursuits.

Spiritual growth like every other growth process requires some sort of rigorous self-discipline. This is what many people run away from; they seek refuge from man-made provisions than divine supply. Many prefer to lean on human expertise than on God’s originality about them; they end up becoming like people like them and not like their heavenly Father.

A little boldness to break away from world mentality of dependence on another human being and make a sharp u-turn to God’s Word to apply it to every aspect of life will change the stories of many lives.
