Whenever the word
marriage is mentioned; there are divergent perspectives of opinions to it. A
lot of people look at it as one of those ordinary and usual life issues which
must just simply come one’s way, and so take it for granted. Some attach a
feeling of infatuation coming to a satisfying peak and so just play the fleshy
love gimmick about it; while others because of environmental influences and
traditions attach great importance to it, but just seek to impress people about
it; and make profoundness of wedding arrangements. Marriage is different from
wedding. Wedding is almost a day’s event; but marriage is a lifetime
commitment!
When planning for a
marriage, you could be carried away by the wedding arrangements which could
affect the whole significance of what will last until ‘something’ do the couple
part. It is not difficult to figure out a purposeful marriage; the kind that
intends to bring forth a distinct family.
The will of God must
be given its prominence; and that means as in heaven so on earth. Marriage then
takes the turn of a ministry rather than a simple ordinary event that comes one’s
way. It is a divine family unit in the making. As long as God must be involved,
He must then take a larger chunk of the planning and the execution to the
finishing thoroughly prayerful! What is anticipated therefore should be of God’s
unquestionable standard according to His Word by the power of the Holy Spirit;
and that also implies God’s kingdom propagation right from the onset; and
should be carried out as a process of a lifetime!
