Our past can be
detrimental to one’s now, future and destiny. What one does now begins to form
a history which shall be termed as the past with time. No one goes without a
past.
You must have lived
in a rural setting at childhood; behaved by the dictates of the environmental
situations of the setting; some cultural activities also must have informed the
formation of beliefs and habits; and all your present experiences are likely to
be influenced by these past events.
Ordinary or religious
Christianity in a person’s life may never wipe away such past memories. They
have a way of registering strong records in one’s mind. The spiritual life must
be taken over and total charge by the Holy Ghost or else the one’s claims of
being saved could eroded by these past influences; thereby all will be the
devil’s tools to devastate one’s future.
We have received
heavenly admonitions to learn to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh; and
to be Spiritually minded than carnally minded. We can take biblical teachings
serious and keep ourselves in regular transformation over and against the past
which the devil uses to haunt us.
One is haunted by the
past in thoughts, imaginations and dreams. It is difficult to quit the past
without a transformative agent; whom the Holy Ghost represents.
Romans 8:8,9 “So
then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh,
but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man
has not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”
