The Cross Alternative

It is no longer news that almost all churches and ministries in some parts of Nigeria prefer the check point bars as an alternative to the cross symbol. Wherever such bars are raised, you can just tell there must be a church or a ministry nearby!    In some places one would think the church is a police station because of the police "no parking" sign posts. The road blocks and bumps had become  another entire nuisance to free movement and a decent civilized society.

Well, we know the cause of all these is fear of the terrorists attacks. Truly, this is a matter of serious concern. It is not in our approach to address the issues of national security on this blog; ours is to strengthen the faith of God's people to free themselves from the wicked intimidation of the devil which had built high towers of fear in many minds. If the church can not exercise faith as a shield of protection against the wiles and fiery darts of the enemy, then the world will have no option but to query us; "Where is your God?"

It is obvious that we have suffered this shame well long enough to find a way of removing this reproach from our midst. If we can return to God Almighty in faith, this will rather intimidate the foes; they will wonder what guts we apply with which to resist them.

Eph 6:12  "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."

Our battles are not to be fought by the use of carnal weapons. We should never use the same weapons the enemy take to fight us. If we are tempted to do so, the enemy will never consider us as spectacular and mysterious. But that is what we must seek to portray; the use of a spiritual armory with which to combat these spiritual forces of darkness.

Eph 6:13 "Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."

Read more on the whole armor of God at the Christian's disposal for effective spiritual battle against the devil and apply it well in the warfare of faith responsibility. Eph 6:14-18.
